All exterior lights on a vehicle must have the e-mark approval in combination with that specific vehicle. If a vehicle is supplied with halogen lights, the e-mark is given on that specific light. By installing a universal led upgrade kit this e-mark will no longer be valid.

The process of co-creation

Together with a European Importer we’ve introduced a LED indicator upgrade. Instead of a halogen bulb a specific light is developed to fit the shape of the light and to have a dynamic/sequential indicator function. To start the project together we initiate a technical requirement and feasibility meeting based on the original halogen solution.  After the final GO on the project the specific LED solution will be developed.  The combination of the original housing and new LED light is approved as a complete unit with a new ECE approval including labels and documentation.

Redesign, factory modification & upgrade 

As an alternative to the LED lighting from factory the replacement of halogen bulbs is a good solution at an reasonable price.  There are also still specific models without LED as an option. In general if you take a look at the universal aftermarket the LED lights kits do not have the ECE approval so you are not allowed to sell them for use on public roads.

To provide LED lighting to every model you sell, Navco International have a special product development approach to have a ECE certified kit ready for market introduction within 3 months. All you need is a little bit of sales volume to amortize the development costs.
